I am 30 years old and have had a porcelain crown on my second last bottom molar since my early teens. The gum has slowly receded over time so you can see silver around the porcelain, now I can see some of the original tooth where the gum has receded. I was prompted to look because the gum felt a bit tender when I was brushing. Is this bad??

I've just had my permanent crown fitted on one of my front teeth. It feels bulky and when I chew my lower teeth grinds into the rim where the crown attaches to the gum, it's so uncomfortable. I went back to the dentist and she filed it off and shorten it but I still don't like it at all. Even the colour does not match the rest of my teeth. Could u pls advise me what to do I'm desperate!!!

My dentist has advised me to have a crown put on my upper 1st premolar, which was treated 12 years ago with a root canal. The tooth is completely intact, and since the treatment I have had no problems. I am concerned getting a crown may create more problems for a unproblematic tooth, for example decay may happen under the crown. Is the crown necessary in this instance?

I have lost the upper part of the back lower left molar but my dentist can save the tooth with a crown which is good news. He has also found hairline cracks on the rear right molar and he has proposed using a crown before this too fractures. I am happy with these proposed treatments. I have been given the option of a stainless steel crown at £350, metal free porcelain at £595 and 60% gold at £750. I would get a 10% discount as...
