I have just had a silver crown fitted on the NHS, to replace a 20yr gold, back lower molar crown which had developed decay underneath. After the fitting I felt pressure to the next teeth as if it was too big (wide not high). The dentist attempted to drill/shape the crown to make it more comfortable and has asked me to go back next week for a review and polish. I am concerned because I cannot get floss between the teeth either ...

Hello. I need a crown as I've had 2 lots of root canal treatment & now have a temporary filling. I am allergic to nickel & possibly other metals - I don't know which, as one can only get tested for common allergens. I don't appear to be allergic to gold, most silver, or brass. My dentist says all crowns are as strong as each other, but I have found information suggesting that gold ones are better as they last longer & don't ri...

I had a second molar re-crowned a few weeks ago. The old crown, (put in by another dentist), didn't fit properly, & kept falling off. I found a new dentist, & the temp crown fit great. I didn't have any issues. But, the perm crown just doesn't feel right. My dentist adjusted the bite, but, I've told him that the crown either feels like it's loose, or as if it's "floating" when I bite down. He can't find anything wrong with it....

The porcelain crown I have now is starting to look ugly. The crown is still great (if a little lower than should be) but my receeding gum has a black/purple mark at the top of the crown. My dentist told me that as the tooth has no nerve the crown has droppe...
