Hi, im a 17 year old female. I have been wearing braces for nearly a year. I have rabbit teeth in the upper front but it dont seems move back at all. I had surgery to pull out 4 teeths at upper and lower equally. Im also wearing biteplate for nearly 7months and i have been wondering in anxiety if the biteplate was the cause that prevents my front teeth from moving in. And im really angry at my dentist she does not tighten my teeth for every visits i went as it does not hurt or neither it feels tight.

I would go for a second opinion . You need to find out if any movement has taken place. It is odd that you never feel any pressure or have felt no tightening . Are there any models of before you can look at , sometimes it is hard to see but often teeth have moved .

If the biteplate fits the inside of your teeth too accurately it may be preventing the teeth from moving but it is more likely that if your teeth "interlock" when you bite together then not wearing the biteplate for enough hours each day will prevent the teeth moving as each time your teeth touch they will be pushed back into the original position
Also it is possible that you have got into the subconscious habit of resting your "rabbit teeth" on your lower lip which will work against the springs in the brace
Having prominent upper teeth normally means that your lower jaw is smaller than the upper and the appearance you desire may not be possible without surgery to reposition the jaws rather than just the teeth within them.
