Ive had an extreme swelling and bruising following a dental injection. Severe swelling occurred immediately after the injection. Then extensive black bruising near my chin and under my chin plus green and yellow bruising and continued numbness over my cheek. The injection was in preparation for work on an upper tooth.

It sounds like the injection lead to a bleed into the tissues near the site due to being placed close to a blood vessel

This is a risk with all injections (I personally had something similar following a recent flu jab)

Of course on the face such ‘bruising’ can be distressing but should resolve over the coming weeks as should the change in sensation

In an ideal world it would be useful to discuss all such rare consequences of injections prior to giving them
