My gums show a lot when I smile. Can this be fixed?

Fortunately, many gum-related imperfections can be corrected with today's cosmetic dentistry.  For example, we can lengthen teeth with porcelain veneers or composite bonding and sculpt a gum line for a full, balanced smile. This can mean a little bone surgery to clear the way for the new crowns and veneers as one does not want the new tooth to go too close to the bone. (Biological width).

Long-term, this might cause continual gum problems.  Before embarking on such changes, a wax-mock up is very important, thus avoiding a commitment to something one cannot see.  Well worth the expense!
