Hello I am 38 years old and over the past year I have slowly got a gap in between my front teeth which I have not had before. My dentist said the cause of this is I clench my teeth when I am sleep and so is forcing the top teeth to separate. I have always had good straight teeth (no gaps). This is really worrying me. Could there be another cause for this to happen? I would really appreciate someones advice please...

Hi, Please see copies of my x-rays. I have an infection under my lower right 6 tooth, which had an abcess 5/6 years ago and was subsequently given root canal treatment at the time on NHS. At some point I have cracked the tooth. But have had no pain from this since. I also have an infection under my lower left 7 tooth now, which a few months ago was given a deep filling, close to the nerve. This was done privately. I also have ...

Hi, I was one of the many children treated by the NHS and given tetracycline which discoloured my teeth. I am 49 years old, with 12 old crowns ( now discoloured with a little gum recession). The overall look of my téeth has affected my confidence socially. My dentist says that I can't replace because of possible complications ( root canal etc). Am I stuck with these dreadful teeth or is there anything I can do to improve them?...

Hi, I had root cleaning on my rear molar and temporary filling due to an infection about a month ago. I was told to come back in February for a checkup to discuss further action which could be either an extraction or a full root canal and crown. The temporary filling crumbled and I had it replaced today. So far I have paid Band 2 charges of £56.30p, plus another £20.60 for the replacement filling today (I think because I asked...

Hi I've just had a replacement gold crown fitted to a lower molar, privately (£635), and have raised, with the dentist, the issue of, what I consider to be, excessive scratches on the surface of this new gold crown. These scratches, which are visible on the outer surface, occurred when the dentist was scratching, and scraping off the excessive bonding agent, which had stuck to the crown, during fitting. The dentist's response,...

I had been with the same nhs dentist for many years. I had a four teeth bridge for a long time but last year it came away and could not be put back in. I got a partial denture which I can't get used to. My dentist said he could refer me for more specialist treatment. After being with this dentist for so many years I decided to go to another dentist and then another. I realise I have made a big mistake by doing this, I don't kn...
