Hi, I have had a full gold cap put in my front tooth 9 years ago and now sometimes when I brush that area the gum bleeds. The tooth underneath was filled down so the cap could fit on top I wanted to know it is possible to get the cap removed and have a white one put on instead. Also, would it be covered with NHS.

Recently a 5 year old porcelain crown ( lower back) broke off while I was eating. It couldn't be replaced due to the fact some tooth and filling had broken off with it. The dentist told me that I would need a new crown, with posts and root filling. He told me to keep the broken crown safe so I could show the new dentist about to take over the practice for colour matching. He showed me xrays of the roots, said they were good an...

I am soo unhappy as all my natural teeth are quiet white and then i have one of my front teeth bright yellow! I was told by the dentist that this is because the vaneer is thin and once fixed with the cement it turns yellow!? Surely this cant be right as no one would ever have the right colour match once f...

Hello I am 38 years old and over the past year I have slowly got a gap in between my front teeth which I have not had before. My dentist said the cause of this is I clench my teeth when I am sleep and so is forcing the top teeth to separate. I have always had good straight teeth (no gaps). This is really worrying me. Could there be another cause for this to happen? I would really appreciate someones advice please...

Hi, Please see copies of my x-rays. I have an infection under my lower right 6 tooth, which had an abcess 5/6 years ago and was subsequently given root canal treatment at the time on NHS. At some point I have cracked the tooth. But have had no pain from this since. I also have an infection under my lower left 7 tooth now, which a few months ago was given a deep filling, close to the nerve. This was done privately. I also have ...

Hi, I was one of the many children treated by the NHS and given tetracycline which discoloured my teeth. I am 49 years old, with 12 old crowns ( now discoloured with a little gum recession). The overall look of my téeth has affected my confidence socially. My dentist says that I can't replace because of possible complications ( root canal etc). Am I stuck with these dreadful teeth or is there anything I can do to improve them?...

I have a deep rooted absess that antibiotics won't shift. It isn't painful. I have been referred to a private dentist for root canal but his prices start at £650 and they have advised it could be up to £900. I am being charged £90 just for an assessment when I have been referred by my dentist. Am I being fleeced? Looking online and speaking to others, £500 seems to be the going price?
