I'm an NHS patient. My dentist fitted partial dentures but I had to return 3 times as they felt much too tight. Each time they said "we daren't take too much off and they need to be tight" but I never had a good fit. Since then I've had extractions and teeth added tothe partial and now they do fit - they properly fit into the roof of my mouth. The problem is, the tooth next to the denture (crowned) developed a fracture, the fr...

Hello, I have a few questions. I've been having bridges for many years (I am 37 and I got my first bridge when I was 16) and unfortunately they always become loose on one side, therefore either new bridge needs to be made or my remaining teeth underneath start decaying. The dentist suggested chrome-cobalt partial dentures. As seen on the picture it will be for my upper jaw covering approx. 8 teeth. Is that a good suggestion fo...

Is their a difference between a orthodontic and a hospital orthodontics? My son and his friend attended the above last October and my son has to wait 1 to 2 years before his next appointment, but his friend who went to the one at the hospital is now starting his treatment. I am concerned that if we go to the hospital we would get seem to quicker? Would this be the case?

I have just visited my dentist and was informed I needed a crown on one of my lower front teeth. Told this would last for 10-15 years. I was told a porcelain crown would be the best choice but this was not covered by the NHS and would cost £400.Would be most grateful if you could confirm this please as I am very dubious unfortunately. Many thanks

I had orthodontic treatment as an adult which finished about 5 years ago.\r\n\r\nDuring the treatment I started to suffer gum recession. My orthodontist felt this was caused by poor plaque control despite my existing rigorous cleaning regime and 3 monthly visits to the hygienist. However, despite continuing my cleaning regime, the gum recession has been getting progressively worse.\r\n\r\nI’ve now seen an oral surgeon as the o...

I have two large teeth on either side of my mouth in my lower jaw and these are very filled. I would like to have these crowned on the NHS but my dentist said they are too weak to crown. I think the roots are still OK. I do not want a lower denture (already have an upper denture) and would like these two remaining teeth crowned (other teeth either side have been extracted but I can just manage to eat using these remaining two ...
