I've just had my 7 year old daughter at the Dental Hospital due to referral by our NHS dentist. She had X-rays done and the dentist that saw them basically said that all her baby teeth need to be extracted, as they all had some degree of decay. He said this was due to a lack of good enamel on them and after a long discussion about oral hygiene and diet, he basically said that it was more than likely down to my bad pregnancy. I...

Hello. I need a crown as I've had 2 lots of root canal treatment & now have a temporary filling. I am allergic to nickel & possibly other metals - I don't know which, as one can only get tested for common allergens. I don't appear to be allergic to gold, most silver, or brass. My dentist says all crowns are as strong as each other, but I have found information suggesting that gold ones are better as they last longer & don't ri...

I have a deep rooted absess that antibiotics won't shift. It isn't painful. I have been referred to a private dentist for root canal but his prices start at £650 and they have advised it could be up to £900. I am being charged £90 just for an assessment when I have been referred by my dentist. Am I being fleeced? Looking online and speaking to others, £500 seems to be the going price?

Hi, I had a porcelain crown fitted on 6 Aug 2015 and a lumo appeared above this two months later. My Dentist said not to worry about it and to come bain 6 months for a check up. He refused to xray the area. I got a second opinion and an abcess was diagnosed immediately with xray to confirm. Should I be able to ask my dentist for the return of the fee for the crown? Thank you

Dear Sirs, Historically, I've always had a metal denture. I've just been to my dentist regarding a new denture and he tells me that metal dentures are no longer available on the NHS. I find this difficult to believe especially as the NHS website says that dentures are made of acrylic, metal or a combination of the two. Can you please help? Yours faithfully, Peter Jackson.
