I have lost

I have lost the upper part of the back lower left molar but my dentist can save the tooth with a crown which is good news. He has also found hairline cracks on the rear right molar and he has proposed using a crown before this too fractures. I am happy with these proposed treatments. I have been given the option of a stainless steel crown at £350, metal free porcelain at £595 and 60% gold at £750. I would get a 10% discount as a member of the practice plan.

As this is a rear molar I have discounted the ceramic solution. I can afford either option for the metal. I am 66 years old and I while I have no idea how long I shall live, i am attracted to doing the job once and not having to re do it. What would be the more sensible choice for me to make?

Any costing issues are independent to the dentist you are working with , we cannot pass comment on anything other than look at your private contract or the NHS contract and any issues raise it with you practice in writing.
