Hi, I was one of the many children treated by the NHS and given tetracycline which discoloured my teeth. I am 49 years old, with 12 old crowns ( now discoloured with a little gum recession). The overall look of my téeth has affected my confidence socially. My dentist says that I can't replace because of possible complications ( root canal etc). Am I stuck with these dreadful teeth or is there anything I can do to improve them?...

I have lost the upper part of the back lower left molar but my dentist can save the tooth with a crown which is good news. He has also found hairline cracks on the rear right molar and he has proposed using a crown before this too fractures. I am happy with these proposed treatments. I have been given the option of a stainless steel crown at £350, metal free porcelain at £595 and 60% gold at £750. I would get a 10% discount as...

Recently a 5 year old porcelain crown ( lower back) broke off while I was eating. It couldn't be replaced due to the fact some tooth and filling had broken off with it. The dentist told me that I would need a new crown, with posts and root filling. He told me to keep the broken crown safe so I could show the new dentist about to take over the practice for colour matching. He showed me xrays of the roots, said they were good an...

Hi, I had a porcelain crown fitted on 6 Aug 2015 and a lumo appeared above this two months later. My Dentist said not to worry about it and to come bain 6 months for a check up. He refused to xray the area. I got a second opinion and an abcess was diagnosed immediately with xray to confirm. Should I be able to ask my dentist for the return of the fee for the crown? Thank you
