Due to a childhood accident, both front teeth are dead and are root filled.  I now had cerec porcelain crowns fitted on my upper front teeth 2 years ago; previously I had Captek crowns with gold fused to porcelain. Some bleaching of the stumps was undertaken before fitting the crowns. However the teeth underneath are still dark thus creating an opaque effect. A cosmetic dentist has now supplied me with a crown over one of my front teeth, which has been reduced to an unsightly black stump. Unfortunately, all three crowns have allowed the black stump to show through the crown, making it look grey at that point. The rest of the crown is a perfect match. I want the highest quality crown, but without the black tooth underneath showing through. What should I ask for?

What is the difference between captek crowns and porcelain crowns please?  Which one is the best?  Which one looks more natural (upper front tooth)?  Thank you.

When my husband told his dentist about them, his dentist was skeptical, saying the technology was too new. I have the utmost faith in MY dentist, but just for argument's sake, what is the downside of zirconium?

This was the most expensive option offered.  I explained to my dentist that I had concerns regarding a visable grey/black gum line which I had seen on several friends crowns. I was assured that a Porcelain/yellow gold option would ensure this did not occur.I am now due...

I am having my top 4 front teeth crowned. Can you advise me of the difference these days (as opposed to 10/15 years ago) in techniques a good aesthetic dentist employs to determine the perfect colour long term to match the other teeth?
