I have a gold crown on an upper front tooth done a number of years ago. I am interested in whitening my teeth and would like to know if the bleaching agents will affect the gold colour of these crowns.

My wife's teeth have progressively become more yellow. She is worried about chemical bleaching.  What is involved in ceramic coating her front teeth, and what would be the ball-park cost?  Is ceramic coating a specialist task, or could her normal dentist do it?
